Revolutionary Patriots of all backgrounds and convictions came together and created our Constitution that has been the bedrock foundation of our great Republic. At its core, this supreme law of the land protects and empowers each of us to live free to pursue our dreams and goals.
The promise of this sacred Document is that its citizens are endowed with a natural right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, and that our government is one of the people, by the people, and for the people.
We are on the verge of failing that promise.
At no other time in recent history have the civil rights and civil liberties of Americans been under such a grave and imposing threat. We are still a Democracy in name, yet the values of freedom and liberty that have been essential to the functioning of our Republic for over 235 years are beginning to fade away: like that of a river washing away its banks, and after time, bedrock is washed away and the structure collapses.
We are facing the risk that our way of life including freedom and liberty will not be that of our parents and grandparent’s generations and will become considerably different from what the Founding Fathers set us on the course to fulfill.
Our rights are not something that can be taken from us by an overreaching government and the few…and yet, they are doing just that. Instead of power to the people, it is becoming power to government and the few. The politicians either support this destructive approach or idly do nothing.
Our guiding principles of governance are being twisted by an interested few who are bent on interpreting the Constitution to serve their own needs rather than that of the people.
To them the Constitution is now Constitutional Progressivism where our sacred Document is being treated as a mere suggestion, to be ignored to accommodate oppressive agendas, social engineering, and the emotional winds of the day.
If change is wanted, then, the only acceptable answer is to follow the rational legal procedures that are required. All of the people must decide, not just the few.
We need strong leadership who will always be steadfast to ensure that we all abide by the Constitution. I will be a leader who will fight to insure our liberties.
